The Idaho / Washington Democratic Women will meet on Monday, September 14 2026, at the Hells Canyon Grand Hotel in Lewiston. Democratic candidates, including Kaylee Peterson, have been invited to provide updates on their campaigns. The meeting is open to all, with lunch available.
In July, the Idaho Democratic Party enlisted local parties to encourage 45,000 unregistered likely Democrats to register and vote. North Central Idaho Democrats organized letter-stuffing events, where volunteers prepared 1,000 personalized mailings with voter registration forms. The efforts fostered community engagement and conviviality among participants.
The next meeting of the Nez Perce Democrats Central Committee will be held on Wednesday, August26, 2026 at 5:30pm at the AFL-CIO Labor Temple, 1618 Idaho St in Lewiston. All are welcome to attend.
On July 30th, legislative candidates from Districts 6 and 7 collaborated to address regional food insecurity by volunteering at the Idaho Foodbank in Lewiston. They packaged 2,000 pounds of pasta for local distribution, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in combatting hunger, a shared concern transcending political boundaries.
Larry Nostrant, a Democratic candidate for Idaho State House – District 7, criticizes the Republican Party for labeling dissenters as Communists. He draws parallels between Soviet practices and current Idaho policies, arguing that they suppress individual rights and enrich a privileged few. Nostrant vows to prioritize constituents’ interests over party alignment if elected.
We held our Annual Picnic at Hereth Park June 17, where around 60 attendees enjoyed a potluck dinner, and a lively Dessert Auction that raised $2,400 for local candidates. Candidates for Idaho Legislature shared their platforms, with Dr. Becky Sundin Mitchell, running for Education Superintendent, as a special guest.
District 6 Legislative candidates Robin Weldy, Trish Carter-Goodheart, and Kathy Dawes will be marching in 4 different parades over the next three weekends. They invite you to join them to decorate, march with them, and support their campaigns.
The Nez Perce County Democrats’ annual picnic is scheduled for June 17, from 6 to 8 pm at Hereth Park in Lewiston. Attendees should bring family, beverages, a dish to share, and lawn chairs. Local candidates will be present, and there will be a fundraising auction for desserts. Everyone is welcome.
Nez Perce County Democrats will meet on May 27 at 5:30pm in the AFL-CIO Building, Lewiston, to reorganize the party and elect new officers, including a Chairman, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, State Committee Man, and State Committee Woman. All Precinct Captains must attend or arrange for a proxy.
