Now through February, Nez Perce County Democrats are sponsoring a fundraising drive to support the Community Action Partnership Food Bank in Lewiston. Cash donations allow the food bank to buy food at a discount, increasing the value of the donation by fifty percent.
On November 15, NPC Dems participated in the Lewiston Veterans Day Parade, celebrating under clear skies. Several participants reflected on the camaraderie, community support for veterans, and positive public reactions.
LC Valley Indivisible are coordinating a Thanksgiving Food Drive at the Asotin County Library, 417 Sycamore St (main location) in Clarkston on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 9:00am until 1:00pm. LCVI encourages monetary donations for this drive.
On Election Day, Lewiston saw significant voter turnout for the Mayor, City Council, and Infrastructure Bond races. Dan Johnson won the Mayor’s seat, while Kassee Forsmann, Matthew Wright, and Bryan Moree secured City Council positions. Nationally, Democrats had notable wins, suggesting a shift in political sentiments ahead of the 2026 elections.

On November 3rd, Nez Perce County Democrats volunteered with L-C Valley Habitat For Humanity, working to complete a home for a deserving family. The team worked on landscaping and construction, feeling fulfilled after their morning’s efforts, with plans to return in spring.
Food insecurity has worsened due to the government shutdown and lack of SNAP funding, increasing demand at food pantries. Nez Perce Democrats are organizing a volunteer event at the Idaho Foodbank on November 22, 2025. Ten to fifteen volunteers are needed, and online registration with specific steps is required.

Nez Perce County Democrats hosted a Candidates Forum for Mayor and City Council, attended by around 40 people on October 29.. Candidates discussed the $22.5 million infrastructure bond and addressed various questions on community issues, including homelessness and affordable housing. Representative Lori McCann also spoke, encouraging audience engagement.
Nez Perce County Democrats invite the community to a Habitat for Humanity build on November 3rd from 8 AM to noon, supporting the homeless and hungry by constructing a new home.
