Our Spaghetti Feast Was a Delicious Success

On Thursday, April 23, the NPC Dems hosted a “Spaghetti Feast” at the Lewiston Community Center. An estimated 75 people, plus 14 candidates, enjoyed a buffet dinner of spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and a variety of desserts, served up by the candidates.

Before and after dinner, each of the candidates took a few minutes to introduce themselves and explain their platforms and priorities to the audience.

The candidates in attendance were:

  • Dan Anderson – Nez Perce County Assessor – Incumbent (also the emcee for the evening)
  • Missy McLaughlin – Nez Perce County Treasurer – Incumbent
  • Loren Beauchamp – Nez Perce County Commissioner, District 1
  • Bryce Blankenship – House D6A
  • Trish Carter-Goodheart – House D6A
  • Kathy Dawes – House D6B
  • Kenneth Williams – House D6B
  • Robin Weldy – Senate D6
  • Richard Gayler – Senate D6
  • Larry Nostrant – House D7A
  • Pete Gertonson – House D7B
  • Patrice Yeatter – Senate D7
  • Nick Bonds – US Senate
  • Jill Kirkham – Idaho Attorney General

Patty Weeks, the current Nez Perce County District Court Clerk, was unable to attend, because she was attending a professional event in Boise. Dan and Missy provided details of her background and accomplishments.

In addition to the food and speeches, a silent auction was set up at the side of the room.

This was truly a community event. Some people brought food and drinks. Others pitched in to help set up the room and tear it down afterwards.

Thanks to all who attended, everyone who helped out, and to all the candidates for taking time to serve, meet and mingle. We’re looking ahead to more events like this in the future.
