Don’t just vote in an election – build a movement!

Friends, we all know the feeling of looking at a ballot and wondering if our choice actually matters. In Idaho, we’ve been told for years that the ‘real’ election happens in the Republican primary—that if we want a say, we have to play in their backyard. Many of us did just that. We registered as Republicans just to have a seat at the table.

But look at where that’s gotten us. Our public schools are facing historic budget cuts, housing costs are pricing our neighbors out of their own towns, and our healthcare decisions are being made by politicians, not doctors.”

When we register as Republicans to vote for a ‘moderate,’ we aren’t just voting; we’re hiding. We are diluting the power of the Democratic Party and telling the world that this district isn’t worth fighting for. But District 6—Latah, Nez Perce, and Lewis counties—is a swing district. It is the front line.

(Editor’s note:  We think District 7 – Idaho and Adams counties and part of Nez Perce is a competitive district as well.)

By staying registered as Republicans, we leave the Democratic primary empty. We leave our own candidates without the clear, visible support they need to attract funding, momentum, and national attention. We are essentially fighting with one hand tied behind our backs.”

It is time to come home. The 2026 election is our chance to break the supermajority. The Idaho Democratic Party has launched the ‘All In for Idaho’ initiative because they know that when we show up as ourselves, we win.

I am asking you today to change your registration back to Democrat. If you are currently a registered Republican, you have until March 13th to make the switch. It only takes a few minutes, but it sends a message that lasts for years: It says that District 6 is no longer a ‘given’ for the GOP. It says we are here, we are organized, and we are ready to lead.”

There are two ways to change your party affiliation:
1. Visit the Online Voter Registration System, or
2. Submit this form to your County Clerk’s office by March 13, 2026.

Don’t just vote in an election—build a movement. Let’s show Idaho what a united District 6 looks like. Register Democrat today, and let’s take our future back. Thank you.
