Will the election this November be one of the most important in our nation’s history? If you believe in the rule of law, it will be.
Ever get a speeding ticket? If not, great! If you have, you know you can go to court and challenge it. You might win!
But if you lose, the court will order you to pay the fine. And you have to pay it, period. You don’t get to decide if the judge was a good judge. You just pay the fine.
ICE, the Immigration & Customs Enforcement agency, has 22,000 employees with police power to arrest and detain. The previous Secretary of Homeland Security, to whom ICE reports, was fired after their agents killed two US citizens in Minneapolis.
The new Homeland Security Secretary is former Senator Markwayne Mullin. During his confirmation hearing, he was asked four times if his agency would obey court orders. Four times he refused to say yes. Mr Mullin was confirmed.
Think about that. The man selected to lead what is probably the largest police force in the United States will not commit to obeying the very laws he is to enforce.
Patrick Schiltz, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, a Republican appointee, found that ICE violated 96 court orders across 74 cases in Minnesota in one month.
That’s just one state, in one month. The judge went on to say that ICE likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.
If we do not elect enough independent-minded people who believe in the rule of law, the rule of law will disappear from this fair land. Please vote for a Democrat, or an Independent, or at least a Republican who has shown the backbone to stand up to our lawless would-be king and his minions.
Please.
Thousands of Americans have fought and died so we could live in a democracy under the rule of law. We’ve lasted 250 years. The choices we make this November could determine if we make it to 251.
