For several weeks we’ve been encouraging people to run for office in 2026.  Our tagline has been

Now that the filing period for national and state offices has closed, we can see that we have a full slate of candidates.  The list includes several NPC Dems – Trish Carter-Goodheart, Robin Weldy, Patrice Yeatter, Larry Nostrant, and Pete Gertonson.

Up and down the ballot, there are Democrats running for office.  In a few cases, we have multiple candidates, which sets up the May 19 Primary as a pivotal event.

We appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm that all of our candidates bring to their races and we look forward to bringing you more information about the candidates and the issues as we go forward.

But let’s do more than cheer from the sidelines.  Consider making a donation to the Nez Perce County Democrats.  As a party, we can contribute up to $2,000 to each candidate for each election (Primary and General).
