We’re All Invited!
The Lewis County Democrats invite you to participate with Districts 6 and 7 legislative candidates in the 90th Annual Kamiah BBQ Days on Saturday, September 5th in downtown Kamiah, Idaho. Join us at 10:30 am at the corner of 9th and Hill Street (Kamiah High School lawn) to get ready to march in the parade that starts at 11:00 am.
The theme of our entry is “Democrats will ‘float your boat’!”
For the parade, Robin Weldy’s truck will be pulling a trailer with her boat on it that holds up to 10 people! We’ll have people holding fishing poles with signs dangling that say some of the things Democrats hope to focus on if our candidates are elected to serve in the legislature.
We will also have a booth at this event from 9 am – 5 pm, and we’d love to have you stop by and/or help at the booth sometime during the day!
This community tradition features a grand parade, live music, local vendors, an auction, and a signature FREE BBQ dinner from 5:00 – 7:00 pm! (See the full schedule.)
Then from 8:00 pm – Midnight is a Street Dance Under the Stars with “The Senders!”
About Kamiah BBQ Days
In 1936, a group of community minded merchants began to offer a free barbeque dinner as a way of saying thank you to area residents for their patronage. The Kamiah Chamber of Commerce has carried on the tradition of BBQ Days for more than 80 years, organizing and sponsoring nearly every aspect of the Labor Day weekend event. Today, thousands of residents, former residents, and visitors take part in BBQ Days – and the event continues to grow each year.
