On Saturday, October 18, 2025 an estimated 7 million people turned out in 2,700 locations across the country and around the world to protest against Donald Trump’s grift, corruption, abuse of power, and disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law.
Here in the LC Valley, over 500 people rallied at the corner of Bridge and 5th Streets in Clarkston for a high-energy protest with signs, music, chants, and beating drums on a beautiful fall afternoon. Several rally goers came in inflatable costumes – frogs, chickens, and ducks. One man dressed as Paul Revere and one woman was in costume as Lady Liberty.
Someone in the crowd commented on how great it was to be among “like-minded people”, and we have to agree.
There were, of course, a few “coal rollers” – guys in diesel pickup trucks who revved their engines and blew smoke at the crowd – but they were fewer than at earlier rallies. And there seemed to be more horns honking and upraised thumbs, too.
