The Nez Perce County Democrats held our annual picnic on Wendnesday, June 18 at Hereth Park in Lewiston. Over 60 people attended on a beautiful, cool evening.

Several long tables in the pavilion held a great assortment of foods brought in by the picnic goers. The main course was pulled pork barbeque, prepared by Pete Gertonson.

As we waited to get started, one group started singing folk songs, and others joined in.
Shortly after 6:00pm, Pete announced that it was time to eat and folks lined up to serve themselves.

The tables around the pavilion filled up with small groups, with everyone enjoying dinner and conversation.
Just after 7:00pm, Pete said it was time for the auction and called on Rick Tousley to help. Together Pete and Rick presented an array of donated items, including homemade pies, cakes, cookies, and several bottles of “No Kings Kahlua”.
OOPS! We didn’t get any pictures of the auction.
If you have one you’d like to share, of the auction or other parts of the picnic, email it to us at npcdemscommunication@gmail.com.
We’ll update the post and give you photo credit.
Members of the crowd were enthusiastic and competitive, bidding up some of the items to over $100. When the auction ended, we had raised $1,920!
All the money raised will go to help fund future Democratic candidates.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize the picnic, everyone who brought food or donated items for the auction, and everyone who came out and made it a great event.
